UAE waives housing loans of retirees

WAM

The UAE is taking further steps to ease the financial burden of low-income citizens.

As many as 429 retirees in Abu Dhabi have been exempted from repaying their housing loans worth AED 444 million.

It follows the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, as well as His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

More than 200 people benefited from a similar initiative in September, which settled home loans worth AED 208 million.
