A high-level UAE–UK meeting in London has focused on security developments in the Middle East and the repercussions of recent Iranian missile and drone attacks targeting civilian sites in the UAE.

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with the United Kingdom’s Deputy Prime Minister and Justice Secretary David Lammy during his working visit to London.

The UK reaffirmed its solidarity with the UAE and strongly condemned the Iranian attacks, describing them as a violation of international law and a threat to regional stability.

Sheikh Abdullah expressed appreciation for the UK’s position and affirmed the safety of all residents and visitors in the UAE.

The two sides discussed wider implications for maritime security, energy supplies and the global economy, stressing the need to strengthen international cooperation to protect shipping routes and ensure the free flow of global trade.

The meeting also reviewed efforts to advance sustainable peace in the region and explored ways to further strengthen UAE-UK relations.
