The UAE’s National Media Authority has taken legal action against a resident over social media content that insulted Emirati women.
The authority said the content published by the woman violated standards set out in the Media Regulation Law and its regulations.
It has also suspended her advertiser permit for three months.
The authority added that it will not tolerate content that insults Emirati women or undermines their status and contributions to the country.
It has urged social media users to act responsibly when publishing content and to uphold community values and the UAE's national identity.
