UAE strengthens power grid resilience with national monitoring centre

Supplied

The UAE has launched a monitoring centre to strengthen the reliability and resilience of its electricity network through real-time tracking and coordination across all major power providers.

The Emirates Monitoring Centre, inaugurated by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, is the first national facility of its kind to connect the country's four electricity utilities — Emirates Water and Electricity Company, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Sharjah Electricity, Water & Gas Authority, and Etihad Water and Electricity.

Powered by Siemens’ Spectrum Power platform, the centre provides continuous oversight of the UAE’s power network, monitoring key operations and supporting faster responses to outages and emergencies.

It also helps improve planning and decision-making as the UAE continues to advance the digital transformation of its energy sector.
