President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has instructed a monthly allowance of 50 per cent of basic salary for all mosque staff working under the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments.

The gesture is in appreciation towards imams and muezzins for maintaining quality standards while maintaining an ideal environment for worshippers in the UAE's mosques.

Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, confirmed the allowance will automatically be included in monthly salaries.

He expressed his gratitude to the UAE President and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, for their unwavering support and concern for mosque workers, as well as their support of the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments in fulfilling its religious and communal responsibilities.
