UAE President, Jordanian King discuss boosting ties during call

UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has discussed enhancing cooperation in key sectors during a call with Jordanian King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein on Tuesday.

The leaders also highlighted how the Al Aqaba–Al-Shidiyeh–Maan Railway Project reflects the strength of UAE-Jordan relations and the two countries' commitment to advancing strategic partnerships.

The foundation stone for the 403km railway network was laid in Aqaba on Monday.

Developed by the Jordan-UAE Railway Company, the project will see a joint investment of around $2.5 billion.

The leaders also reviewed a number of regional issues, and stressed the need for continued efforts to secure security, stability and peace in the region.
