The UAE has outlined salary support packages of up to AED 3,000 for some Emiratis working in the private sector following the extension of the Nafis programme until 2040.

The financial support of up to AED 3,000 will be for children of Emirati women and wives of Emirati citizens, with the eligibility set at a minimum salary threshold of AED 6,000.

Earlier, the government had announced the expansion of the allowance for children of Emirati workers, with no limit on how many children can benefit from the scheme.

The updates will come into effect early September for new beneficiaries, with the authorities stating that existing beneficiaries will go through phased implementation for up to three years.

In April, His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, announced the extension of the programme to 2040, following the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
