The UAE has opened its consulate in Hyderabad, the capital of the Indian state of Telangana.

The mission was inaugurated by Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, UAE Minister of State, in the presence of V. Muraleedharan, India’s Minister of State for External Affairs.

It's the UAE's third consulate in India after Mumbai and Kerala, while there is also an embassy in the capital New Delhi.

"The opening of the consulate underscores the UAE's commitment to strengthening its relationship with India," said Al Sayegh.

"The two countries enjoy deep economic, trade, and investment relations that culminated in the signing of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, which opened broader horizons to foster ties," he added.

Speaking exclusively to Dubai Eye 103.8's The Agenda, Indian Ambassador to the UAE, Sunjay Sudhir, talks about how it boosts connectivity in all sectors.

With the UAE gearing up to host COP28 in November, Sudhir highlighted how India is working to collaborate with the Emirates to find climate solutions.
