UAE leaders offer condolences on passing of former Qatari Emir

UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has extended his condolences to Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on the passing of his father and former Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

"May God grant him mercy, rest his soul in eternal peace, and bring comfort to his family during this difficult time," the UAE leader posted on the social media platform X.

Born in 1952, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani ruled Qatar from 1995 to 2013, before abdicating to his son, Sheikh Tamim.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, also offered their condolences.
