The UAE has expressed its solidarity with Kenya following a fire at a girls’ school dormitory in Nakuru County that killed 16 students and injured 79.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) offered its sincere condolences to the victims' families, the government, and the people of Kenya over this tragedy.
The ministry also wished a speedy recovery for all those that are injured in the incident.
The fire, which broke out early on Thursday, occurred at the Utumishi Girls' Academy Senior School in Gilgil in west-central Kenya.
Eight students suspected of carrying out the arson were arrested by local authorities on Friday.
