UAE expresses solidarity with India over Kerala landslide victims

WAM

The UAE has extended its condolences and solidarity to India following the recent landslides in Kerala state that have caused dozens of deaths and injuries.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed deep sympathy to the Indian government and its people, offering condolences to the families of the victims and wishing a swift recovery for the injured.

Landslides swept through tea estates and villages in Kerala's Wayanad district on Tuesday, killing at least 107 people while they slept as heavy rain collapsed hillsides and triggered torrents of mud, water and tumbling boulders.

More than 3,000 people have been moved out of the impacted areas and accommodated in relief camps.
