UAE collects samples of Nestlé baby products for testing

Authorities in the UAE have collected samples of Nestlé-branded baby formula products for quality analysis following the recent recall over traces of toxin-forming bacteria.

In a post on social media, the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) announced that the sample collection was made to ensure that the Nestlé products are free from any harmful ingredients.

The ministry also published a list of batch numbers for the specific infant products that may contain harmful substances, urging all consumers to verify and compare the products.

They advised consumers to avoid consuming the product and dispose it safely if it matches any of the codes shared.

The ministry also confirmed that in collaboration with Nestlé and local authorities, all affected batches of the infant formulas have been withdrawn from retail outlets and warehouses across the UAE, and their sale and distribution have been prohibited.

The announcement followed the Emirates Drug Establishment's decsion to recall a limited number of infant formula products due to its potential toxin risk.
