UAE calls for solution to Syria crisis

The UAE has called for a fundamental solution to the crisis in Syria. According to the national news agency, WAM, a statement made at a session of the Human Rights Council denounced attacks by Syrian government forces on civilian areas. The UAE also voiced its concern over the lack of protection for hospitals and medical staff, and called for access to humanitarian aid to be guaranteed. The statement indicated that the worsening conditions were leading to the increasing number of refugees fleeing the country.
