The UAE has reaffirmed its commitment to stronger Gulf media cooperation at the 29th Meeting of GCC Information Ministers in Bahrain.

Leading the UAE delegation, Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, Chairman of the National Media Authority, highlighted the importance of greater media integration, coordination and content exchange among GCC member states.

Discussions focused on advancing joint media cooperation, tackling disinformation, strengthening digital collaboration and implementing the GCC's media strategy through to 2030.

Al Hamed stressed the importance of moving beyond coordinating media positions towards closer integration, with common standards, stronger partnerships and coordinated efforts to tackle disinformation.

He also called for practical initiatives and clear implementation plans to ensure lasting cooperation and strengthen professional, responsible media across the Gulf.
