UAE astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi to return home at start of September

Emirati astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi will begin his journey home, after spending six months on the International Space Station (ISS), at the start of September.

Taking to their official Twitter handle, NASA confirmed that the "crew's SpaceX Dragon spacecraft will undock from the space station no earlier than Friday, September 1, splashing down off the coast of Florida".

The Space X crew - NASA astronauts Stephen Bowen and Woody Hoburg, Sultan Alneyadi and Roscosmos cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev - have been living and working aboard the ISS since docking on March 3.

"During the mission, the crew contributed to hundreds of experiments and technology demonstrations, including student robotic challenges, plant genetics, and human health in microgravity to prepare for exploration beyond low Earth orbit and to benefit life on Earth," NASA said.
