The UAE has confirmed 331 new cases of COVID-19, taking the tally to 2,990.

All of them are receiving medical care and in a stable condition, the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) added.

Two people - an Asian national and an Arab - have died from the coronavirus, bringing the total death toll to 14. They both suffered from pre-existing health conditions, the authority added.

It comes as the ministry conducted 40,000 tests over the last two days as part of efforts to intensify COVID-19 screenings.

MoHAP also reported 29 new recoveries, taking the tally to 268.
