Space tourism was high up on the agenda during talks between the UAE government and Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin.

Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy, along with Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship and SMEs, discussed future partnerships with Brent Sherwood, Senior Vice President of Blue Origin.

It comes as the country’s investments have amounted to AED 22 billion, with the space sector responsible for more than 3,200 jobs spread across 57 space companies and entities. This includes start-ups and five space science research centres.

The local space sector in the UAE has touched nearly AED 3 billion in revenue, with the UAE’s total foreign trade of aerospace vehicles and parts reaching AED 190 billion.
