UAE air defences intercept 15 missiles, 11 drones on Thursday

The UAE air defences have intercepted 15 ballistic missiles and 11 drones on Thursday, according to a statement from the Ministry of Defence.

Since the start of Iran's attacks, the UAE has intercepted 372 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles and 1,826 drones.

These attacks resulted in the deaths of two members of the armed forces and a Moroccan contractor working for the military, as well as eight civilians of Pakistani, Nepalese, Bangladeshi, Palestinian and Indian nationalities.

There have also been injuries to 169 individuals, ranging from minor to moderate to severe. These include nationals of the UAE, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Iran, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Uganda, Eritrea, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Comoros, Turkey, Iraq, Nepal, Nigeria, Oman, Jordan, Palestine, Ghana, Indonesia, Sweden and Tunisia.

The Ministry of Defence affirmed it is on high alert to deal with any threats to undermine the security of the state, in a manner that ensures the protection of its sovereignty, security, and stability, and safeguards its interests and national capabilities.
