More than 300 Syrian civil defence recruits in Latakia Governorate, Syria, have received food parcels from the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) as part of Operation Gallant Knight 2, organised by the Ministry of Defence.

The aid comes under the We Will Not Forget You initiative in cooperation with Syrian authorities and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, and as part of the UAE’s humanitarian and relief efforts framework.

The campaign will also offer food and clothing to some 500 cleaners and 600 medical staff in Latakia.

Mohammed Khamis Al Kaabi, Head of the ERC Delegation in Syria, praised the key role of the civil defence workers in rescuing survivors of the earthquake that hit Syria.

The UAE says it will continue to support Syria’s recovery and rehabilitation after February's earthquake.
