H.H. Sheikh Hamdan selects first recipient of Mohammed bin Rashid leadership medal

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister, has approved an official of the rank of Director-General as the first recipient of the Mohammed bin Rashid Leadership Medal.

Recognised as the highest accolade within the Government of Dubai, the Mohammed bin Rashid Leadership Medal aims to instill a work culture that focuses on recognising and empowering government leaders.

The announcement comes after Sheikh Hamdan chaired a meeting of the Supervisory Committee and reviewed the evaluation of 32 government entities participating in the inaugural edition. Over 100 interviews were conducted to assess leadership impact and cover evaluation criteria, engaging 10 independent global leadership experts as evaluators.

"The sustainability of our government institutions relies primarily on preparing strong, capable young leaders across the second and third tiers," Sheikh Hamdan highlighted. "Investing in our national talent and enhancing their leadership capabilities is a top priority to ensure our institutions are ready to navigate future shifts and challenges with efficiency and agility."

The winner will be announced and honoured at the Mohammed bin Rashid Leadership Forum 2026, organised by the Mohammed bin Rashid Center for Leadership Development, on September 23.
