Private schools in Sharjah will continue with distance learning during the first two weeks of the new academic year.

The announcement was made by the emirate's Emergency Crisis & Disaster Management Authority as well as the Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA).

They said the decision is aimed at ensuring the safety of students, teachers and staff.

Earlier this month, authorities had made it mandatory for staff and pupils in Sharjah's private schools to test negative for COVID-19 before returning to classrooms.
