As many 13,000 illegal residents have been moved out of family neighbourhoods in Sharjah as part of an ongoing campaign.

It follows a directive issued by His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and is being coordinated by Sharjah City Municipality, Sharjah police and Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority.

‏The Director-General of the municipality, Thabit Al-Turaifi, said 3,000 inspection visits have been carried out.

The officials also undertook legal and administrative measures against all kinds of illegal housing and expanded the campaign to include residential towers in several areas of the city.
