Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched an AI-powered system to manage and operate buses with higher efficiency.
The system monitors more than 1,100 buses and supports 26 different operational scenarios, which contributes to enhancing operational flexibility and raising the readiness of the public transport system.
It will enhance the buses’ responsiveness to operational changes in other public transport modes such as the Dubai Metro and Tram, and enhancing the customer experience and the continuity of public transport services.
The system uses real-time data, machine learning techniques, and advanced algorithms to identify the most suitable buses and route them immediately, while maintaining the efficiency of the public transport network and minimizing the impact on service levels.
The initiative affirms the RTA's commitment to adopting the latest advanced technologies to enhance the efficiency, flexibility and sustainability of the public transport system, and its alignment with Dubai’s directions towards smart cities, by providing proactive services that meet customer expectations and keep pace with the city’s rapid growth.
