Preliminary results for the Sharjah Consultative Council elections have been announced.
According to WAM, 25 winners, out of 189 candidates, will now be occupying half of the Council’s seats.
The remaining 25 seats, of the 50-member Council, will be appointed by His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
The election results will be open for appeal for four days, with the final list to be announced on February 11 next year.
