Pope Francis has been officially briefed on the preparations for the Faith Pavilion at the upcoming COP28 by Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders, Mohamed Abdel Salam, in Rome.

Pope Francis spoke with Mohamed Abdel Salam, to discuss plans for the pavilion, which aims to be a global platform for dialogue between leaders of different religions and to involve them in efforts to address climate change.

Earlier this month, the COP28 President-designate met with the head of the Catholic church to discuss the crucial role of faith leaders in advancing the climate agenda at the upcoming summit in the UAE.

Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, the UAE's Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, met with Pope Francis during his visit to the Vatican last week.

COP28 takes place in Dubai next month, where world leaders will gather to discuss the global climate agenda.
