Over 1,300 personnel deployed in Dubai during adverse weather

RTA/X

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has deployed 1,300 trained technical personnel, 500 tankers, and 380 mobile and fixed pumping units in collaboration with its partners for support during the unstable weather conditions in the UAE.

In an interview with Dubai Eye's The Agenda show on Friday, RTA Director Hamad Al Shehhi‏ noted that preparations were in place to ensure the safety of the public:

Al Shehhi stated that the RTA had completed major improvements in the road infrastructure in over 14 locations ahead of the weather conditions, with its Joint Weather Conditions Command Room directly monitoring the situation:

Considered the central hub, the RTA Director noted that the control room focuses on reporting, logging incidents, coordinating emergency calls, and contacting the relevant teams needed for support.

The RTA has also utilised technology to support its operations with live coverage through over 10,000 CCTV cameras:

Al Shehhi added that the technology also includes a mobile command vehicle, a "movable centre" that can be deployed to sites and carry out similar functions to the RTA's control room for areas that cannot be reached through the cameras.

The RTA continues to monitor the ongoing unstable conditions around the clock with relevant authorities, with the public's safety considered its top priority.
