New bridge to cut travel time from DWTC to Al Mustaqbal Street

Supplied

A two-lane, 500m bridge linking Dubai World Trade Centre and One Central buildings to Al Mustaqbal Street-Za’abeel Palace Street intersection will open on Friday, cutting travel time from 10 minutes to 2 minutes.

It forms part of the AED633 million Al Mustaqbal Street Development Project that will develop the intersection with Za’abeel Palace Street to Financial Centre Street, and forms part of a broader project that includes the development of the Trade Centre Roundabout.

The project features 2,000 metres of bridges and tunnels, and extends to expanding Al Mustaqbal Street from three to four lanes in each direction.

It will increase the street’s capacity by 33 per cent, from 6,600 to 8,800 vehicles per hour in both directions and reduce journey time from 13 minutes to 6 minutes.
