More than 5,200 vehicles impounded in Abu Dhabi for exceeding 200 kmph speed

More than 5,200 cars have been impounded in the capital for exceeding speeds of 200 kmph from January to August this year. According to reports, drivers of the vehicles have been referred to public prosecution for legal proceedings. The reckless drivers were caught by speed cameras, mobile and fixed radars and traffic police on internal and external roads in the capital, the Abu Dhabi Traffic and Patrols Directorate said. Violators have also been slapped with 12 black points on their driving licenses.
