Dubai's Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) is developing a standardised policy that will set guidelines for the ethical use of AI in private schools, which will roll out in 2027.
Speaking to ARN News, Director General Aisha Miran explained that the policy will set the guiding principles for introducing AI in schools:
The authority will work with external partners, stakeholders, and experts to formulate the policy, added Miran.
She emphasised that as a country that "embraces innovation", the UAE aims to ensure that the right approach is carried out in the education sector when it comes to integrating advanced technologies:
Miran also noted the goal is to raise children who are aware of the different technologies and adapt accordingly:
Earlier, the UAE Cabinet approved the roll out an AI curriculum across public and private schools in the UAE.
