As many as 1,856 prisoners of various nationalities will be released from Dubai's correctional facilities on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.

The directive was issued by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Dubai Public Prosecution, in coordination with Dubai Police, has begun the legal procedures to implement the order.

Essam Issa Al‑Humaidan, Dubai’s Attorney General, says the pardon reflects His Highness’s commitment to bringing relief to families and giving the inmates a chance to rebuild their lives.
