Implemented by Noor Dubai - an international charitable initiative for the prevention and treatment of blindness and impaired vision under the umbrella of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives - it has the aim of reaching 7 million people over the next 3 years.

On his official account on social media platform X, Sheikh Mohammed wrote: "Empowering people by combating the darkness they live in is one of the noblest humanitarian tasks... And every eye to which we restore light is a new eye that sees the beauty of this world, a new hope, and a new life."
