His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai has called on the country to come together to mark Flag Day on November 3.

In a message on his social media platforms, Sheikh Mohammed called on all ministries and institutions, as well as individuals to raise the UAE flag at 10:00 am on Friday, November 3.

"On this occasion, we express our renewed determination and our firm will to work to keep this flag flying high. The national flag is a symbol of our achievements and our union, and the pride of our country," said Sheikh Mohammed.

Flag Day was first celebrated in 2013. The idea was conceived by Sheikh Mohammed to celebrate the accession of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan as President of the UAE in 2004.

It's commemorated every year on November 3, and is not a public holiday.
