The UAE's President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan made a phone call to his Sri Lankan counterpart, Ranil Wickremesinghe, on Tuesday.
Sheikh Mohamed congratulated him on his election as the new president and wished him success in leading Sri Lanka towards stability and peace.
During the phone call, the two leaders discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations between their countries.
They also discussed a number of regional and international issues of common concern.
