H.H. Sheikh Khalifa calls for nationwide prayers for rain

WAM

Rain prayers will be performed across all UAE mosques on November 12.

This is in response to a call made by UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Known in Arabic as 'Salaat Al Istisqaa', the prayers will be offered 10 minutes ahead of the declaration (Adhan) of the Friday prayer.

The prayers are performed during drought or late rain, in accordance with Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) Sunnah (traditions).

According to the Saudi Press Agency, the Holy Mosque in Mecca observed a prayer for rain on November 4.

The prayer was attended by Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of Makkah Region.

In Madinah, the prayer was performed at the Prophet's Holy Mosque and attended by Prince Saud bin Khalid Al-Faisal, Deputy Governor of Madinah Region.
