H.H. Sheikh Hamdan names fintech company Ziina for Dubai-it award

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, has presented the Dubai-it Award for companies in the business category to Ziina for making "accepting payments by phone simpler for thousands of businesses".

In a post on social media platform X, Sheikh Hamdan said the company, built in Dubai by young Arab entrepreneurs, helped payment volume surpass $1.5 billion.

"Faisal Toukan, Sarah, and Talal saw in Dubai the opportunity to build an integrated financial platform," he said. He noted that the app, named after the founders' mother, serves 500,000 users and supports 290,000 business owners today.

His Highness also congratulated the company, highlighting that their achievement is an example of Dubai-it, which includes "building from the ground up", "growing with ambition", and "creating impact that reaches beyond the business".
