His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai's Crown Prince and Chairman of The Executive Council, has hailed the success of the inaugural edition of the Hatta Festival.

He also issued directives to organise the event annually.

"I am delighted with the projects benefiting the region’s residents, especially the youth, and am also pleased to witness the enthusiastic participation of families enjoying Hatta’s unique winter ambience," said Sheikh Hamdan, who toured the festival on Friday.

The inaugural edition of the event, which concludes on December 31, shines the spotlight on what makes Hatta a unique place to visit and the diverse experiences it has to offer.

Sheikh Hamdan appreciated the idea behind the festival and emphasised Dubai’s commitment to developing tourist destinations in accordance with the highest global standards and in harmony with the cultural distinctiveness of the local communities.

Dubai set in motion a comprehensive development plan for the Hatta region in October 2021.

This strategic initiative aligns with Dubai's Urban Master Plan 2040, which targets holistic development across all regions of the emirate.

The plan prioritises infrastructure development and the implementation of a series of development projects and initiatives over the next two decades.
