H.H. Sheikh Hamdan calls on community to mark 'Day of Solidarity'

WAM

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai's Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister, has "invited" residents to tune in to national media channels at 11:00 am on Saturday to mark the 'Day of Solidarity'.

In a social media post, Sheikh Hamdan said the community can listen to the national anthem at 11:00 am and "renew (their) pledge and determination to continue advancing and elevating our beloved country".

He highlighted that every year on January 17, the country marks the 'Day of Solidarity' by reflecting on the "resolve, unity and solidarity shown by the people of the UAE – standing proudly behind their national flag to safeguard the country’s achievements and uphold its global standing".

The occasion marks the fourth anniversary of the aggression carried out by the Houthi rebels in 2022 on civilian facilities in Abu Dhabi.

The UAE will also be holding several air displays across the Emirates to commemorate the occasion.

Starting at 3:00 pm, several air displays will be held across the UAE, with locations including the Abu Dhabi Flagpole, Burj Al Arab, Umm Al Quwain Flagpole, Al Qawasim Corniche, and Umbrella Beach.

Sharjah and Ajman will be leading displays in between the coasts of the two emirates.
