Fog blamed for road casualties in Abu Dhabi

10 people were injured in accidents on Thursday morning due to adverse weather conditions.

68 separate vehicle incidents were recorded in Abu Dhabi all of which were attributed to the thick fog which blanketed much of the Emirate in the early hours.

Police received 205 calls on the emergency 999 number and have reminded drivers to take extra care when driving in volatile weather conditions and to follow safety rules and procedures.

Meanwhile in Dubai, Police chiefs have reminded motorists that they need to go much slower than the regular speed limits on roads in foggy conditions.

Major General Mohammed Saif Al Zafeen, Assistant Chief of Dubai Police says he's noticed many drivers lose their bearings while trying to navigate the inclement weather.
