UAE's Sheikha Mozah encourages women to join aviation industry

Captain Sheikha Mozah bint Marwan Al Maktoum, who is the first female Emirati commercial pilot, wants to see more women join her in the aviation industry.

She mentioned that women have to try twice as hard as men in an industry such as this one, but she hopes to make the change.

Last year, she launched the Women in Aviation Association to offer direction and support to women interested in pursuing a career in aviation.

She also praised the International Air Transport Association's 25by2025 campaign that was introduced last year with an aim to increase the number of women in senior positions, pilots and operations and bring the female representation to at least 25 per cent.

Sheikha Mozah, who currently works as a lieutenant pilot with Dubai Police, had joined Emirates as a First officer in 2017 and made headlines in the same year when a video of her landing an Emirates aircraft in Italy went viral.
