Emirati women strengthen Dubai Government’s talent base

The Dubai Government Human Resources Department (DGHR) has highlighted the growing role of Emirati women in Dubai’s government workforce.

The department says Emirati women are a key part of the government’s talent base, with their experience and leadership helping strengthen government readiness for the future.

There are currently 12,571 Emirati women working across Dubai Government entities, making up 54.7 per cent of all Emirati employees.

More than 2,200 women hold leadership and supervisory positions, supporting the development of the next generation of national talent.

Emirati women are also represented across vital sectors, including healthcare, energy, transport, security, justice and the economy.

The department says the workforce combines young talent with valuable institutional experience. More than 48 per cent of Emirati women employees are considered young talent, while 53 per cent are married.

This highlights the importance of flexible and family-friendly workplaces that support women throughout different stages of their careers and family lives.

The approach also supports the goals of the Year of the Family 2026, which places family stability and cohesion at the heart of national priorities.

DGHR released the statistics coinciding with this year's Emirati Women’s Day celebrations, under the theme 'We Emerge Stronger and Better'.

Abdullah Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, Director General of DGHR, said Emirati women have turned opportunities into achievements and are playing an increasingly influential role in shaping the future of government work.

He added that the department is developing pathways to strengthen women’s leadership, future skills and knowledge transfer, while preparing more Emirati women for executive and leadership roles.

It is also investing in female talent in future-focused fields, including technology, engineering, information technology and healthcare.
