Dubai's 'Jood' platform to help people affected by heavy rains

Dubai’s Community Development Authority (CDA) is facilitating financial contributions through its 'Jood' digital platform to assist people affected by the recent extreme weather conditions.

The 'Tadhamon' (solidarity) campaign provides an opportunity for individuals, private sector entities, business persons and other members of society to help people whose homes and properties have been affected by the adverse weather conditions.

Real-time updates on the support requirements and accomplishments will be easily accessible, ensuring maximum benefit for these individuals.

The initiative has been launched under the umbrella of the 'Committee for Assisting Weather-Affected Citizens in Dubai' that was formed under the directives of Dubai's Crown Prince His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

"The Authority has received numerous requests for contributions from businesspeople and companies, all eager to lend a helping hand to those affected. Through the launch of the relief campaign on the ‘Jood’ platform, our goal is to streamline the process for community members and companies willing to support those impacted," said Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Director General of CDA.

Financial contributions will be directed towards assisting individuals affected by the weather conditions, including those registered with the CDA, as well as those registered with charities, institutions and participating entities on the 'Jood' platform.

The 'Committee for Assisting Weather-Affected Citizens in Dubai' is chaired by Omar Bushahab, CEO of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment.

Members include Dubai’s Community Development Authority, Dubai Municipality, the Roads and Transport Authority, the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, and the Department of Economy and Tourism.

The committee is tasked with receiving and promptly addressing requests, ensuring that their concerns and needs are handled efficiently and effectively.
