Dubai Police responded to 51 accidents on Thursday morning as thick fog blanketed large parts of the country.

These accidents were reported over a five-hour period between 5:00 am and 10:00 am.

The authority also received a total of 2,841 calls on its emergency hotline 999 during the same period.

Dubai Police have urged motorists and other road users to be extra cautious during unstable weather conditions.

Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of the General Department of Traffic, emphasised the importance of reducing speed, ensuring lane discipline and leaving a safe distance between vehicles.

He also called on cyclists and e-scooter riders to wear reflective jackets and equip their bikes with front and rear light reflectors.
