Dubai Police warns of burn risks from viral trend of microwaving slime

Dubai Police have warned of serious health risks among young children from a new social media trend that prompts them to microwave "slime" to "increase its flexibility".

Heating slime exposes children to hot vapours that could explode or splatter when removing the toy from the microwave, officials explained, adding that it could also "damage household appliances or cause small fires".

Parents are urged to be extra vigilant during the summer holidays and guide their children against blindly imitating social media trends without understanding its consequences.

They also reminded parents against allowing children from using electrical appliances without parental supervision.
