Dubai Police step up safety and traffic measures for new academic year

Dubai Police

Dubai Police have drawn up an integrated security and traffic plan to ensure a safe return for students and smoother traffic around schools as the new academic year begins.

The plan includes 253 security and traffic patrols, 28 drones to monitor traffic and key locations, as well as additional mounted and bicycle patrols.

More than 200 student safety ambassadors will also take part in the initiative, while 775 police personnel will engage directly with students.

Dubai Police will also run awareness events in cooperation with 16 government and private entities.

The activities will focus on traffic safety, using designated pedestrian crossings, and promoting awareness of police services and communication channels.

Police say the safety of students is a shared responsibility involving authorities, schools, families and the wider community.
