WATCH: Dubai Police rescues tourists stranded on hiking trip in Hatta

Two tourists, who suffered severe exhaustion and fatigue while hiking the rugged terrain of Hatta, have been rescued by teams from Dubai Police and Hatta Brave Unit.

In a video posted on instagram, Dubai Police documented the rescue mission.

Brigadier Mubarak Al Ketbi, Director of Hatta Police Station, said specialised teams were immediately deployed after the women sent out an SOS at approximately 11:30 am last Tuesday.

Using drones, the location of the hikers were identified and a team of rescue personnel were sent to the site.

The officers safely evacuated the women using specialised mountain rescue equipment, transporting them to a designated medical point where they received the necessary care.

Brigadier Al Ketbi highlighted that the Hatta Brave Unit is equipped with a wide range of specialised equipment, including modified mountain vehicles, thermal drones for night operations and LED lighting systems, to respond to emergencies efficiently round the clock.

Hikers have been reminded to adhere to designated trails and to dial 999 or use the SOS feature on the Dubai Police smart application in case of emergencies.
