The Dubai Event Security Committee has held a crucial coordination meeting to discuss preparations for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup.

The tournament, taking place from October 3 to 20, marks the first time the UAE will host the event.

Chaired by Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, Assistant Commandant for Operations Affairs, the meeting reviewed the readiness and preparedness levels of strategic partners and members, alongside representatives from the tournament's organising committee.

Ten nations, including Australia, New Zealand, England, South Africa, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Scotland, the West Indies and Bangladesh, will compete in the championship.

Maj. Gen. Al Ghaithi stressed the importance of teamwork among partners to ensure the tournament's success and to showcase the UAE's ability to host major international events.

Tickets for the tournament went on sale on September 24.
