Dubai collects 20,000 units of blood from 22,000 donors

WAM

Dubai has collected 20,000 units of blood from mid-February until today.

That's according to Dubai Health Authority's (DHA) statistics, which show that the emirate's Blood Donation Center received 22,000 donors from 150 different nationalities.

The stats were revealed on International Blood Donor Day, which is marked every year on June 14.

The blood center was able to deliver 13,000 units to DHA hospitals, 7,000 units to private hospitals and 3,500 units specifically to Thalassemia patients.

In 2019 alone, the number of blood donors reached 66,000 with more than 800 campaigns held across the emirate.
