DEWA urges residents and building owners to use renewable energy

NULL

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is encouraging households and building owners to install photovoltaic (PV) panels to generate electricity under its 'Shams Dubai' initiative. According to the national news agency, WAM, the initiative supports DEWA’s efforts to promote the use of renewable energy. DEWA announced its first project under this programme in collaboration with Dubai Airports, to supply Dubai South – formerly Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International Airport in Jebel Ali with solar energy. The setting up of solar power panels on building rooftops is also a part of transforming Dubai into the smartest city in the world, and is in line with the Dubai Integrated Energy Strategy 2030.
