Death toll rises to 17 after Dubai bus crash

A total of 17 people have died and five critically injured in a bus accident in Dubai.

The incident took place on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road near the Rashidiya exit on Thursday.

According to reports, the bus was carrying 31 people returning from Oman after the Eid holiday when it crashed into a height barrier.

Dubai Police initially reported 15 fatalities but nearly two hours later, two more were confirmed dead.

An investigation is currently underway and Dubai Police officials are calling on drivers to be more cautious and abide by road rules to avoid such unfortunate incidents.
