COVID-19: More than 200 Dubai beachgoers fined in one day

As many as 221 beachgoers have been fined in Dubai in a single day for not complying with the COVID-19 safety measures.

The high number of offences was reported on Friday – mainly for not wearing masks and flouting social distancing norms.

Both these violations carry a fine of AED 3,000.

Meanwhile, a total of 316 people have been caught breaking the rules since beaches reopened 10 days ago.

Police have stepped up patrolling to catch the violators.
